Koprivnica Science and Innovation Park
About the project
The Koprivnica Science and Innovation Park (ZIP) is one of the largest investments in scientific and educational infrastructure in northwestern Croatia. The project, valued at EUR 5.5 million, of which EUR 4.7 million was secured through non-repayable funding from the European Regional Development Fund, was implemented through a partnership between the City of Koprivnica and University North.
ZIP was created through the renovation and repurposing of two buildings within the University Campus in Koprivnica. Building B, covering nearly 3,500 m², includes state-of-the-art laboratories, lecture halls, coworking spaces, a library, a reading room, and other facilities dedicated to education and research, while Building R provides more than 700 m² of administrative and office space. In total, more than 4,200 m² of space dedicated to education, research, and innovation has been revitalized.
Area: 3,500 m²
Area: 700 m²
The project was conceived as a meeting point for students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry, as well as a platform for the development of new educational, scientific, and entrepreneurial initiatives. The renovated facilities have been built in accordance with high nZEB (nearly Zero-Energy Building) standards, incorporating renewable energy sources and sustainable technological solutions.
Today, ZIP serves as a modern hub of knowledge and innovation, strengthening collaboration between academia and industry while creating opportunities for the development of new projects, technologies, and entrepreneurial ideas for the benefit of students, University North, and the wider region.
